Frequently Asked Questions
How Does Lucere Dimpleplasty Work?
Dimpleplasty, a simple yet ingenious cosmetic procedure, allows men and women to acquire permanent dimples. Typically, surgeons perform this procedure from the inside of the patient’s cheek or chin. This approach ensures no visible scarring on the outside.
Firstly, the surgeon makes a precise incision. They remove a small piece of muscle from the cheek or chin to create the necessary recess. Subsequently, they suture the remaining muscle to the underside of the skin using a dissolvable suture. The incision, made on the inside of the cheek or chin, forms the dimple. This leaves a permanent indentation in the skin.
Surgeons conduct the entire procedure under local anesthetic, which guarantees minimal or no pain for the patient. The process can take as little as 1 hour. After the procedure, a recovery period of a few days follows. Most patients who undergo Dimpleplasty can resume work and their usual activities within a week. However, they should adhere to the aftercare guidelines provided by their surgeon.
What is the healing process of a dimpleplasty at Lucere?
When a patient first undergoes dimpleplasty, the new dimples tend to be very prominent, regardless of whether or not the patient is smiling. Over time, the dimples gradually begin to relax and return to their natural shape, only appearing when the patient smiles.
The final effect of the surgery may therefore take a few days or a couple of weeks to become evident, once all residual swelling and inflammation have subsided.
Is Lucere Dimpleplasty painful?
Dimpleplasty is performed under local anesthetic, which means you will feel a minimal level of pain or discomfort during the procedure.
There may be some residual pain and discomfort over the few days that follow the procedure. Your surgical team will share ways to minimize the pain and discomfort as part of your post-procedure care.
Is the Lucere Dimpleplasty painful?
During the procedure, you will be under local anesthesia and therefore will feel a minimal level of pain. After the procedure, you may experience some bruising and/or swelling, along with some pain and discomfort that should subside within a week or two.
Your surgical team will advise on pain relief in the meantime, as part of your comprehensive post-procedure care guidelines.
When will I see the results?
You will be able to see the results of your dimpleplasty procedure almost immediately after the procedure, but it can take 1-2 weeks for the residual facial swelling to subside sufficiently for the final effect to be seen.
How do I know I’m a good candidate?
Dimpleplasty is a fairly minor surgical procedure and is therefore suitable for most people in a generally good state of health.
During a personalized consultation with our surgical team, various factors such as overall health, facial structure, and aesthetic goals will be assessed to determine if the procedure is suitable for you. Our goal is to provide individualized surgical plans that align with your unique needs, ensuring a safe and successful outcome.
Are there scars after the dimpleplasty procedure?
Because the incisions are made inside, there are no visible scars after undergoing dimpleplasty
