Frequently Asked Questions
What is Lucere’s ThermaFrax treatment?
Lucere’s ThermaFrax treatment combines two of Lucere’s most popular laser treatments, Thermage Skin Tightening with Fraxel Skin Resurfacing. It begins with Thermage, which uses innovative, patented radiofrequency (RF) technology. It safely heats the deeper layers of your skin, stimulating new collagen and elastin production for natural, younger-looking skin. Then, using microscopic laser columns, the Fraxel Laser penetrates deep into your skin to stimulate your body’s production of collagen, producing a healthier appearance while replacing damaged skin cells with new, healthier cells
Is the ThermaFrax laser treatment safe?
The ThermaFrax treatment is completely safe. However, always seek a skin expert like the Laser Technicians at Lucere when undergoing advanced laser treatments. They have experience and expertise in the field of dermatology, and are led by Board-Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Zaki Taher. They are trained to understand skin conditions, and not all lasers are suitable for all skin types, colors, etc.
What can I expect during the ThermaFrax treatment?
The treatment begins with the Thermage laser. While you may experience a deep, yet brief sensation of heat, our CPT technology alternates cooling bursts with radio-frequency heat energy, resulting in minimal-moderate discomfort during your treatment. After your Thermage Skin Tightening treatment is complete, we numb you with a topical numbing cream so that the next part of the treatment is comfortable. Fraxel Skin Resurfacing is then used, where you will feel a warm sensation. Since the Fraxel Laser only treats a portion of tissue at a time, the surrounding tissue remains intact to promote quicker healing.
What can I expect after the ThermaFrax treatment?
After your ThermaFrax treatment, you can expect redness and potential swelling for 2-3 days following the treatment. By around the fourth day, the swelling and redness will go down and your skin will begin to slough, meaning you can expect flakiness/peeling.
When will I see results?
You will notice both immediate and progressive results with your ThermaFrax laser treatment. Results can be seen in as soon as 2 weeks and can continue to improve for up to 6 months as your collagen begins to build up and enhance your appearance. You can also maintain your results throughout the year with lighter laser and skin treatments.
