What to Expect

During Treatment

Your HarmonyCA™ treatment begins with a thorough consultation & facial assessment to map the precise injection points for your anatomy & goals. A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort throughout the session. Using a fine needle or cannula, Dr. Taher strategically places HarmonyCA™ in targeted areas, typically the cheeks, midface, jawline, or areas of significant volume loss. The appointment takes approximately 45–60 minutes. Patients experience mild pressure & a slight sensation during injection, but the process is well-tolerated.

Recovery Phase

HarmonyCA™ involves minimal downtime. Some patients experience mild swelling, redness, or localized bruising in the treated area for 24–72 hours following the session. This is normal & resolves quickly. You are advised to avoid intense physical activity, excessive heat (saunas, hot tubs) & alcohol for the first 24–48 hours. Most patients return to work & social commitments the same day or within a day of treatment. Full massage of the treated area should be avoided for one week unless directed by your provider.

For Optimal Results

HarmonyCA™ is uniquely effective as a single-session treatment. The HA component delivers visible volume & lift from day one, while the CaHA biostimulator continues working over the following 3–6 months as your skin produces new collagen. Final results are typically appreciated at the 3–6 month mark. A follow-up assessment is recommended at that time to evaluate your response & determine whether a touch-up or second session would further enhance your outcome. Pairing HarmonyCA™ with a medical-grade skincare routine & protective SPF will help extend & maintain results over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is HarmonyCA™ & how is it different from regular dermal filler?

HarmonyCA™ is a hybrid injectable that combines two active ingredients in one product: hyaluronic acid (HA) & calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). Traditional dermal fillers typically contain only HA, which adds volume & smooths lines but gradually absorbs over time without structural benefit. HarmonyCA™ goes further — the CaHA component acts as a biostimulator, signalling your body to produce new collagen beneath the skin. The result is immediate visible improvement from the HA, followed by progressive structural enhancement as collagen builds over the following months. In short, it delivers the benefits of a filler & a biostimulator in a single treatment session.

How long do HarmonyCA™ results last?

Results from HarmonyCA™ are expected to be longer-lasting than traditional HA filler alone, thanks to the collagen-stimulating effect of CaHA. While individual results vary based on age, skin condition, lifestyle & the areas treated, most patients can expect visible improvement for 12–18+ months. The collagen production triggered by CaHA continues to build over the first 3–6 months post-treatment, so final results are fully appreciated several months after your appointment. A follow-up session may be recommended to maintain or enhance your outcome.

Who should be injecting my Filler?

The most common & effective fillers for nasolabial folds are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar in the skin that binds water & supports hydration & volume. As we age & lose HA, collagen, & elastin, the skin becomes thinner & more prone to wrinkles. When injected beneath the surface, HA filler adds volume, smooths the crease, & blends the midface into the mouth area, softening deep smile lines & rejuvenating your appearance.

Who is a good candidate for HarmonyCA™?

HarmonyCA™ is well-suited for adults experiencing early to moderate signs of facial aging, including volume loss in the cheeks & midface, skin laxity, deepening folds & declining skin quality. It is an excellent option for patients who want natural-looking rejuvenation without surgery, those looking to get more longevity from their injectable treatments & individuals who want to address both volume loss & skin firmness in a single session. Ideal candidates are generally in good overall health with realistic expectations. A complimentary consultation with Dr. Taher will determine whether HarmonyCA™ is the right treatment for your anatomy & goals.

Is HarmonyCA™ painful?

Most patients describe HarmonyCA™ as comfortable & well-tolerated. A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area before the session begins, significantly reducing discomfort. During the injection itself, patients may feel mild pressure or a brief stinging sensation, particularly in more sensitive areas. Post-treatment, the area may feel tender or slightly sore for 24–48 hours, which is normal & resolves on its own. Discomfort is typically minimal & does not interfere with daily activities.

Can HarmonyCA™ be combined with other treatments like Botox or laser?

Yes — HarmonyCA™ pairs well with a range of complementary treatments & is often incorporated into a broader facial rejuvenation plan at Lucere. It is commonly combined with neuromodulators (Botox) to address dynamic lines and movement while HArmonyCa™ restores volume and stimulates collagen. Laser treatments, such as Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant, or IPL, can be scheduled to further improve skin texture, tone & radiance. Your provider will advise on appropriate timing between treatments to optimize your results safely.
