Lip Filler Enhancement
Lip filler injections are one of the most popular treatments today! They have become a beauty staple for many women, just as much as visiting the hairdresser or getting your nails done. Using expertly injected filler, your lips can become volumized and/or structured to ensure you get that perfect pout. Whether you’re looking for definition and structure, some volume, or both, our Expertly Injected Lip Filler treatment can help you achieve just that!
At Lucere, we use high quality, premium filler made of hyaluronic acid, which is completely safe for your body. Remember, fillers are half science and half art, and the advanced techniques of your injector will determine the outcome of your results.

What is Filler made of?
Most premium dermal fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid, which is a sugar that is naturally produced by the body. It is responsible for keeping skin hydrated by binding itself to water molecules. Hyaluronic Acid is found in skin and connective tissue. As we age, our skin renews itself slower and we begin to dramatically lose hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin. This results in skin that looks aged, more dry, thinner and more wrinkles and folds are created over time.
When expertly injected, filler can be used to restore facial structure, treat fine lines or deep folds, restore facial volume for a lifted effect and reshape and redefine the lips. It is your injector’s technique and experience that will determine the results you will receive.
Are there any risks with Lip Filler treatments?
When administered by a medical professional, lip fillers are relatively low-risk and safe. You can expect some soreness and bruising afterwards, but we cannot stress it enough – only go to a trained expert for your injections! The possibility of more serious risks is not worth the discount. Your results can also be highly undesirable, aesthetically unappealing, and asymmetrical. Medical complications include necrosis, which is a blockage of blood supply to veins in your lips. Experts are experts for a reason – trust them!
How do I prepare for my Lip Filler appointment beforehand?
Before your lip injections, it’s important to avoid blood thinners as they will make your lips more prone to bruising and bleeding after. Ideally, stop taking pain killers like aspirin or ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E and even alcohol for about five days prior to your treatment. If you have a history of cold sores, you should take your prevention medication before the procedure as prescribed, to avoid triggering a flare-up.
How fast is the treatment and are results instant?
The treatment itself is relatively quick but varies depending on the area of your face being treated and the amount of filler required to achieve the desired results. On average, you can expect your treatment to take approximately 30 minutes, depending on where you are being treated. In terms of your results, you will be able to see them right away, however, you must consider that your treated area will be swollen for a few days, and it takes about 2-6 weeks to have your filler set, giving you the full effect.
How big will my lips get?
This all depends on the goal you and your injector set to achieve results that will look best for your features. However, don’t expect to walk away with huge lips in just one appointment. The size gradually increases over time for results that are natural. Remember, it’s better to go slow and add where needed, rather than going too big and having lips that are not natural looking. Keep in mind that there’s quite a bit of swelling at first that can distort the shape of your lip. You need to give your lips time to adapt and settle in before assessing if more filler is required. The Lucere Philosophy is Look Good, Not Done. It is very important to us that our clients look beautiful…without looking overdone.
Can filler treatments be reversed?
The beauty of hyaluronic acid-based fillers is that they are completely temporary. If filler needs to be removed, your expert injector can use an eraser enzyme called hyaluronidase, which accelerates the rate at which your lip filler will break down. The process is fast, and results are nearly instant, however, it will take a few days for your filler and any swelling to go completely down.
What is premium filler?
Premium fillers are higher quality fillers that are more volumizing and longer lasting. At Lucere, we carry a full range of premium fillers by brands such as Juvéderm, Restylane and Revanesse. These fillers are specially formulated for specific treatment areas and use, to ensure that any filler treatment looks completely natural.
Are there any more advanced filler options?
Because of the expertise of our injectors at Lucere, we are proud to be one of the few clinics in Alberta to offer Sculptra filler treatment. Sculptra is referred to as a “facelift in a bottle” and is a procedure done over 1-3 sessions to give patients superior results.
Are there longer lasting fillers?
Yes, premium fillers tend to last longer than other non-premium filler materials, and at Lucere, we are proud to carry the best filler product on the market.
What will lip fillers look like on me?
This is one of the biggest questions we’re constantly asked! Most of our clients are mainly concerned with their before and after results, and rightfully so. It’s important to understand that results differ from injector to injector, as each physician has their own formulas and techniques they like to use. The technique and type of filler used will dictate the volume, lift and results you see.
Remember, filler is an art just as much as it’s a science, and it’s important to invest in an injector with an amazing track record, as well as the experience and expertise to back it up. This ensures a safe treatment with results you will be happy with. Avoid injectors who treat clients in a cookie-cutter way, who disregard the overall aesthetic of your face and give clients a standard lip. One lip doesn’t fit all, and each lip should be treated with a customized approach to give results that suit the client’s facial features and desires.
How much does Lip Filler cost?
The price of your treatment will be dependent on the area(s) being treated and the amount of product needed to achieve the desired effect. Lip Filler ranges from $350-$750. We invite you to contact us for a complimentary consultation, where our experts can create a customized treatment plan based on your own goals, unique facial aesthetic, as well as discuss what’s right for you.
